BURIAL RITES // GROUP // 2015
Brief
Create a book cover and four posters based off the novel 'Burial Rites' by Hannah Kent. Each group member must create one poster each and work collaboratively on the book cover.
Concept
Merge poignant photography with hand drawn textures in order to reflect the main characters inner turmoil and strength, while demonstrating her connection to place and events. The main character has a deep connection to Iceland so we chose to hand draw textures that show this in an abstract way. For example rock, fog, and water are textures that are constantly described in the novel. Fire is another texture used that links the posters to the events in the novel.

My roles: group organiser, assisted photographer and model, researched text types, drew fire texture, produced final presentations and concept development presentations throughout semester.
